At Macmillan we don't do medical research or try to find cures for cancer. We don't get involved with clinical trials of drugs or equipment. These areas are comprehensively covered by Cancer Research UK and other organisations.
What we do is focus our research on improving the quality of life for people affected by cancer and turning the results into practical solutions and better quality services. We also assess our services to help us understand what types of care and support work best.
We undertake research into areas such as patient and carer experiences and views on how well current cancer services meet their needs. This helps us develop more responsive and personalised services.
