Nationwide supports Macmillan

Thursday, 26 June 2008, UK-Wide

Nationwide Building Society is contributing 20p per vote cast to Macmillan in the run up to its AGM and is aiming to raise £250,000!

Over 7.5 million Nationwide members qualify to vote this year and can vote by post, at any branch, online at www.nationwide.co.uk or at the AGM itself which is on the 17 July - so if you or any of your friends or family are members of Nationwide, please encourage them to vote now.

The money raised will be used to fund two Cancer Information and Support Centres which will offer consultation and alternative therapy rooms together with a full-time Information Officer, to work alongside standard hospital treatment. Nationwide members’ votes will help fund the extension of the Durham information service and the Plymouth centre.

Commenting on the link, Graham Beale, Chief Executive of Nationwide Building Society, said:

‘This year we have chosen to strengthen our relationship with Macmillan, our flagship charity, which supports people living with cancer. I very much hope that our members will use their vote and be committed in helping us raise a substantial sum for such a worthy cause.’

Nationwide has supported Macmillan for over 15 years and has raised over £5 million to date.
