Local events

  • Sponsored horse ride Sunday, 06 September 2009
    We are looking for 100 horses and riders for a 10-mile horse ride around the local bridal paths in the Altofts area. Join us on Sunday 6 September and help raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and people affected by cancer.

Whether you have an hour here or there or can spare a day a week, we need your help.

    Bunny Hop fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support is a bounding success.
  • We did it!
    On Sunday the 15 March, brave teams of two were handcuffed together and put onto blacked out coaches and driven to a mystery destination. Why? To get back to base close to Wakefield Prison without spending any money and raise thousands of pounds for people affected by cancer.

Thanks to the generosity of local people who support Macmillan, local people affected by cancer and their families are being helped by more than 80 Macmillan nurses, doctors and specialists, such as radiographers, dietitians, two ethnic liaison officers and social workers, helping people in hospitals and in the community throughout West Yorkshire.
